My name is Peter Skubna. I am the National Manager Environmental for the Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) which operates a portfolio of just under 450 stores under the Bay, Zellers and Home Outfitters banners. The HBC portfolio of stores consists of stores in every province across Canada.

I have had the pleasure of partnering with Danny and the team at Metro Compactor for the last five years although Metro’s relationship with HBC started before that. I first became involved with Metro began when I was tasked with setting up a recycling program for mixed plastics in which we shipped these materials to a central location for consolidation. We soon realized that we did not have the right equipment in place to process these materials in an effective way for resale to our recycler. A colleague introduced me to Metro and within a few short meetings we had a custom proposal presented, which we implemented satisfactorily in short order.

About a year and a half ago I inherited the entire HBC waste portfolio and have been satisfied with working with Metro on a more regular basis. The team at Metro is always willing to provide HBC with the best solution for each situation. This includes advising on repair or also advising when repair is not the best value proposition and then advising on new. Metro also helps us by working the swap of equipment from one location to another.

Metro Compactor have always instilled a feeling of trust and honesty and it is a benefit to have the one stop solution that they provide.
